Jade Empire puts you in the shoes of a humble student of martial arts in a small academy on the fringes of the massive area ruled over by Emperor Sun Hai. Storm Dragon. Oh, Storm Dragon, how. 7.1 THANKS AND CONTRIBUTORS - THANKS TO - LinkOmega, for his 'Jade Empire - Style Guide' which I used as a point of comparision for this guide My wife, who found 'Jade Empire' more bearable to watch than, say 'Silent Hill II' 7.2 Version History - 0.80 - Guide is released at this mostly finished stage because waiting to fill in all the.
So as not to derail the WIP thread, I've started a separate one.
I'm playing on the default difficulty, and it occurred to me that without Storm Dragon, I'd either die way more often, or the fights would take much, much longer and involve more turtling behind blocks and wild jumping around.
On the other hand, with Storm Dragon, I'm basically one-shot killing everything that's affected by Harmonious Combos (handily filling my Focus back up in the process), or whaling forever on enemies that I keep in a Shocked state.
Currently, I'm switching between White Demon, Leaping Tiger, Storm Dragon, the longsword and the axes. From time to time I throw in Jade Golem against enemies with a host of immunities, when I'm too lazy to figure out what else would work.
I have Stone Immortal, but rarely use it.
So, what am I missing here? Surely that's not the only way to fight without each battle taking up inordinate amounts of time?

Storm Dragon |
I didn't like Storm Dragon in vanilla Jade Empire. Printworks 2 0 8 x 8. It felt overpowered and useless at the same time. So I reconfigured it completely. It still incapacitates your opponents in my mod, but for substantially shorter periods of time. And leveling up the duration - which is still possible - will do a little bit, but not an awful lot to change that. Additionally it no longer does physical damage of any sort anymore. I repeat: You can no longer harm your opponents with Storm Dragon! Oh, and I've also taken away Storm Dragon's ability to start a Harmonic Combo.
Storm Dragon
But for all the things I've taken away, I also added something: Storm Dragon has now become the twin brother of Spirit Thief. Just like Spirit Thief allows you to regenerate your Chi and drain that of your opponent, Storm Dragon allows you to regenerate your Focus. It also allows you to drain your opponent's Focus, but - as you probably already know - there's only a single opponent in Jade Empire who has Focus himself. That one special enemy, however, is a lot of fun to fight with Storm Dragon! ;)
Jade Empire Storm Dragon
When your character runs out of Chi, you automatically switch to Spirit Thief. Likewise you will automatically switch to Storm Dragon, when you run out of Focus.
Storm Dragon
Energy Style, Drains Focus from enemies Does direct damage in Chi Strike mode only. Storm Dragon's Power Attack and Area Attack can be used to paralyse enemies for a short time. The forms and strikes of Storm Dragon enable the master to call upon the power of lightning to drain his opponent's energy. While this style's attacks don't cause any direct damage, its motions summon forth electricity to course through its victim, forcing them to lose Focus and allowing the Storm Dragon user to regain it. Storm Dragon cannot win a fight on its own, but combined with other styles it can easily change the tide of a difficult battle.
